Fifteen Months {Rory}

Rory is fifteen months old today. He weighs 26.2 pounds and stands about 30 inches tall.

Here’s what I want to remember about this past month:

  • He is not eating quite as much these days, and he’s definitely not as willing to try as many things as Riley was at this age, but he’s doing fairly well. He is still loving broccoli and banana, but also most meats, blueberries, mango, pear, and watermelon. He has also stolen a gummy from his brother’s bowl and loved it. And he loves teddy grahams.
  • The only slightly annoying thing about mealtimes these days is the fact that he is not liking his highchair. He’ll take a few bites and then refuse. (Oh, and he’s started to throw his food onto the floor, too.) However, if I let him down and allow him to walk around and play, he’ll accept bites from me that way. So I’m basically following him around the house as his does his laps feeding him bites of his meal. Crazy fries.
  • He is drinking his milk just fine, three times a day. But the best part is, he’s down to only using one bottle, at bedtime. Hooray!

  • He has at least 10 teeth, maybe more. It’s so hard to count since he won’t let me look in his mouth for very long, but I know he has a couple of his molars already.
  • He still loves bathtime with his brother and kicking in the water. (He has also now discovered his boy parts.) We’ve also been in the pool quite a bit this past month, which he is loving too.
  • He has developed an interest in books. I’ll often find him flipping through a few in his room or some of the ones we keep elsewhere.

  • He often sits on the floor and plays with his feet crossed at the ankles. So cute.
  • He’s starting to throw things more, testing his strength. He also likes to hit me in the face, which is not so awesome.
  • He is basically walking, as the two videos from earlier this week showed. But he is still crawling a fair amount. And he doesn’t know how to stand up all on his own yet. He still needs someone or something to pull up on.

  • He’s doing great on the stairs, climbing up easily and scooting down on his belly. But lately he’s wanted to walk down while holding onto the railing or the wall. I’m not okay with that.
  • He is starting to test his limits, looking to see if I’m watching when he does something he’s not supposed to.
  • He’s also become somewhat of a climber: he almost made it on top of the coffee table one afternoon and then later that same day he crawled on top of the train table.

  • He is still not really talking. SUCH a difference from his big brother.
  • He is such a happy little boy for the most part, and I never get tired of seeing those dimples of his. Or when he raises his eyebrow at me. So cute.

Fifteen months old!
